“Photographs of weeds are transformed into ancient ritualistic objects and used alongside choreographed movement, spoken word, chant, and music to meditate on the power manifested through the anti-anthropocene vitality of the photographic subject. Q Li will be joined by composer Thomas Metcalf who will contrast Gregorian chant with non- western percussion to create a dissonance of the ‘otherworldly’ that manifested itself in the supernatural practices of medieval England and beyond.”
